About Us

Arts Out West tours high quality professional shows into village and community halls across West Cumbria. You can always be sure of a warm welcome from our local promoters who choose, promote and manage the events. As much a social occasion as a performance, a good night out is had by all! For the 2015 Autumn season we will stage over 30 performances in around two dozen village halls and arts centres from Furness to the Solway.

Arts Out West was formed in 1999 and now has a part time Artistic Manager, Chris Bridgman, and a part time Administrator, Jocelyn West, who work from the Kirkgate Arts Centre in Cockermouth.

We are part of Kirkgate Arts, a company limited by guarantee with charitable status, which also manages the Kirkgate Centre in Cockermouth. Arts Out West works in partnership with Highlights Rural Touring Scheme (www.highlightsnorth.co.uk) to deliver a collaborative programme of events across Cumbria.

Arts Out West is one of about thirty similar schemes in the UK, and is a member of the National Rural Touring Forum.

Arts Out West is supported by the following organisations through funding, in kind support and advice:
